- Jan 2007 -- From Jay and Ed -- We're both fine, retired and
beginning to enjoy it. We have a 'new' grandson, and have been
pretty busy watching him grow. He's now four years old, (see,
how time flies?) and my daughter and son-in-law live just twenty
minutes away. My other granddaughter lives in Maryland, so we
do not get to see her as much. All the family was able to get
here on Christmas, with the exception of my son and his wife
who live in Oregon. It's one of the few times we see almost
the whole family together.
- Dec 2006 - From Gail: We always have Christmas at home. Karyn
will not be able to join us - she just got a permanent position
at
Boeing so I am sure is not able to get away. We are hoping to
make a trip out to see her some time in January. Will have Christmas
with the kids, my mom, Daryl, Andrew, Janice and Jessica.
- Dec 2006 -- From Tommy - Stayed home this Yuletide as one
of our twin daughters, Laurel, came in to spend the Christmas
Holidays with me. Linda, our oldest daughter, and husband, Cliff,
plans to come here beginning of February to spend a week. Was
planning for a trip to NYC latter part of this month, but will
postpone the trip until after they leave. Had planned a trip
to Reno in October, but an earthquake occurred day, Sunday,
day before we were to leave. Hardly any damage to places in
Honolulu, all damage were in Hawaii, the Big Island. However,
here in Honolulu, we were without electricity for 19 hours.
Canceled my flight as
there was a large backup of people in the airport waiting to
leave. Weather has been rather chilly last few weeks, but not
much rain. Also a sewer drainage line broke and all that waste
went into the Ala Wai Canal and on to the ocean which brought
a lot of the waster on to the beaches. So beaches were off limit
for a few days. The tourists here were disappointed as they
couldn't go into the
ocean for several days
